The Senior Interactive Media Planner is the agency’s primary contact with Account Service on a day to day basis. With the guidance of a supervisor, the Senior Media Planner should be able to function independently on a day-to-day basis in a variety of areas and manage strategy development, client goals, and budget parameters. Responsibilities: Coordinates the planning and execution of advertising programs for specified clients in accordance with client’s objectives and budgets; Consults with Planners, Design/Programming, account management and others when appropriate to develop strategic solutions to clients objectives; Monitors day-to-day progress of campaigns to make sure that deadlines are met to respond to team counterparts problems and questions; Is a competent mid-level direct/Interactive marketer capable of winning the clients respect and pursues proactively advanced direct marketing and interactive skills by reading industry publications, books, attending seminars, doing research; Writes work plans for review by his/her supervisor and the Web Development Director; Mentors, trains, and supervises an Assistant/Buyer/Planner where appropriate; Shows skills as an excellent presenter, a clear and organized writer and a strategic thinker; Performs analysis of client’s campaigns and crafts recommendations based on analysis; Acquires knowledge of the client’s business and customer so that marketing and advertising problems and opportunities may be anticipated; Identifies interactive opportunities and initiates new strategic projects based on his/her interpretation of client’s needs. Required skills: College Degree; 3-7 years of interactive media planning and buying; Minimum 5+ years Marketing experience, Agency experience preferred and Direct Marketing experience highly valued; Strong Initiative; Excellent writing and strong/persuasive presentation skills; Strong analytical skills; Leadership qualities within the agency; Understanding of research tools such as @Plan and Media Metrix; Proficient in ad-serving technology such as Dart and Atlas; Knowledgeable in all aspects of interactive media planning and buying, including Search (PPC) and Display; Deep understanding of Web marketing strategies and tracking techniques.
